I contacted Ash Tutors as I needed help with my 6 year old son who has been struggling in literacy. As a primary school teacher myself, I wanted someone who was as passionate with kids as I am and obviously it was setting the bar high to ensure his tutor met my high standards whilst I was teaching other children! I contacted Geoff recently as I need support for my son in his final GCSE year in all three sciences. Never having used 'tutor agencies' before I was attracted to Ash Tutors as it seemed to be a little different - smaller and somehow more personal. On first contact I was very impressed with the detail to which Geoff went in assessing our needs in order to find the most appropriate tutor. Geoff put us in touch with Gemma whose approach is absolutely fantastic - super efficient, supportive and positive, going to a lot of trouble, initially and as an ongoing basis to understand our needs such that detailed learning plans are developed from a very informed perspective. She is massively enthusiastic for her subject and her teaching. Her teaching and learning strategies are engaging, fun and everything I associate with excellent teaching and a good student experience. I would thoroughly recommend Ash Tutors.. My son loves his lessons with Paul and I was really wary he wouldn't as it has always been a challenge getting him to do homework. He is thriving with the one to one and is doing so much better at school as he is keen to show his teacher what he has learned with his tutor. Paul is excellent at teaching and makes the lessons interesting to Alex ( usually around football!) I am so impressed with the preparation he puts into every lesson.
